GOD’S CALLING

Therefore, brethren, be the more zealous to confirm your call and election,

for if you do this you will never fall… - 2 Peter 1:10

The First Presbyterian Church of Huntington, IN is in search of a new pastor following the retirement of our former leader. Below is a concise overview of our expectations for the prospective candidate and what they can anticipate from our congregation.

SUPPORT FOR THE PASTOR

At the First Presbyterian Church in Huntington, IN, we are in search of an inspired individual eager to join us in our mission to "make heaven crowded."

God has blessed us with incredible resources for this purpose. Our congregation consists of devoted, mission-oriented individuals. Despite being a small group, we are emotionally stable and free from drama. Our exceptional music director enlivens our services with her remarkable piano, flute, and vocal skills. She also leads our handbell choir and supports our vocalists with dedication.

Our Administrative Assistant has consistently demonstrated initiative, knowledge, and a warm, Christ-centered approach. The church's administration operates seamlessly due to their commitment and foresight regarding the church's needs.

Our small city is fortunate to have a Christian University. Having an intern (or two) might help us in our outreach efforts. Our number of social media followers has increased by 15% in the last 3-4 months. We continue to enhance this by using the Church Fuel program. Our hope has been to be able to qualify for a $10,000 per month grant for advertising through Google. After lots of work, we made it!!  We are moving forward with the Church Fuel “Grow Program”. The advertising will be designed and administered by Church Fuel under the direction of our Mission and Outreach Team.

Several people come to our beautiful, historic building each week, as we are currently offering space to The Scouts of America, Joyful Songsters (local community choir for those with differing abilities) and Pathfinder Services (serving those with intellectual and physical disabilities).  Our church building is found within 3-4 blocks of 3 different apartments for those over 55 or those living with disabilities.  We envision building relationships with these people and the rest of the local community.  We have about 40 people that throughout the week will watch our virtual services.  The vast majority are from this beautiful little town but there are some from as far away as Uganda!

The First Presbyterian Church has many positive attributes and would welcome a Christ-centered person to join us, advocate for us and lead us into our next adventure.

If you would like more information regarding how we could work together, please send us an email with your resume. The position would be part-time with the possibility of full-time in the future. Pay is negotiable. We look forward to hearing from you.
